Riga is an old Hanseatic city fa­mous for its Art Nou­veau build­ings, as well as for its well-pre­served Old Town. In 2016 the Com­mu­nity of the Protes­tant Churches in Eu­rope awarded Riga the ti­tle of “Re­for­ma­tion Town of Eu­rope”.

The two most es­sen­tial sights to see in Riga are the House of Black Heads and the Riga Dom. Riga‘s in­dus­try is mostly based on wood, chem­i­cal and tex­tile in­dus­try as well as food pro­cess­ing.
