Eva-Ma­ria Krö­ger was born on Ju­ne 16th, 1982. She grew up in Dier­kow, whe­re she at­ten­ded a high school un­til 1999. In 2001, she gra­dua­ted from the for­mer “Goe­the-Gym­na­si­um”, which is now known as the “In­ner­städ­ti­sche Gym­na­si­um”.

Al­re­ady du­ring the school time her daugh­ter Lu­ca Vic­to­ria was born. Lu­ca Vic­to­ria is now a trai­ned kin­der­gar­ten tea­cher.

Af­ter gra­dua­ting from high school, Eva-Ma­ria Krö­ger star­ted stu­dy­ing po­li­ti­cal sci­ence and pu­blic law at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Ros­tock. Af­ter com­ple­ting her ba­che­lor’s de­gree, Mrs. Krö­ger mo­ved with her daugh­ter in 2004 to Tü­bin­gen and con­ti­nu­ed her mas­ter’s de­gree.

Sin­ce the end of 2006, she li­ved and worked in Mann­heim un­til she mo­ved back to Ros­tock two ye­ars la­ter. Back in Ros­tock, Mrs. Krö­ger be­gan her po­li­ti­cal in­vol­vement in the“DIE LIN­KE” par­ty.

In the spring of 2009, she was elec­ted to Ros­tock Ci­ty Coun­cil, whe­re she was the chair of her coun­cil group for 13 ye­ars. Me­an­while, as a part of her vol­un­ta­ry com­mit­ment, Mrs. Krö­ger was for seve­r­al ye­ars al­so the chair­per­son of the Volks­thea­ter Ros­tock su­per­vi­so­ry board.

In 2012, Mrs. Krö­ger mar­ried Kay Spieß, then sta­te di­rec­tor of the “DIE LIN­KE” par­ty in Meck­len­burg-Wes­tern Po­me­ra­nia. In 2018, her hus­band pas­sed away af­ter a long ill­ness. To­day, Mrs. Krö­ger lives in a part­ner­ship.

In 2016, Mrs. Krö­ger ran for the sta­te par­lia­ment of Meck­len­burg- Wes­tern Po­me­ra­nia and was elec­ted via the list of the “DIE LIN­KE” par­ty. Un­til her elec­tion as ma­yor, she was the­re in­vol­ved in the areas of hou­sing, con­st­ruc­tion, di­gi­ta­li­za­ti­on, art, cul­tu­re, pe­ti­ti­ons and fu­n­e­ral law.

Mrs. Krö­ger is current­ly still a cas­hier in the Chris­to­pher Street Day as­so­cia­ti­on in Ros­tock, a task she en­joy­ed ve­ry much and will so­on hand over.
